Fashion

I have a confession to make.. And it’s that:

I really dislike jackets.

It’s not like I’ve never seen an amazing one, because I see beautiful jackets all the time. I just don’t like any of them on me. It makes winter very difficult for me and one reason why I hate going out at night in winter.

Blazers make me feel too corporate and leather jackets make me feel like a bikey girl. I clearly have something wrong with me because a nice jacket in a great cut looks amazing on all girls. Maybe I just haven’t found one that I love yet or one that I’m willing to spend a fortune on. The only jacket that I’ve bought and worn more than once or twice was a coat from Zara that I had to buy and wear because I was in New York and and a cardigan just wouldn’t cut it.

Actually now that I think about it, I’ll *half* take that back. There are some jackets that I like. The ones that I do like though are always printed or embellished. As pretty as they are, they do limit your outfit choices and potential to wear them over and over.

I just need to find that perfect staple and I’m sure that time will come. In the meantime, I’ve recently pre-ordered this snuggly H Brand fur vest from Adrenalin boutique to keep me warm this winter. I can’t wait to wear it!

One of my favourite things about fashion is seeing how other people style their outfits and where they draw their inspiration from.

A part that always intrigues me is girl’s choice of jewellery. I feel as though pieces that we own often tell a story, and hearing where people have found their favourite treasures is always unique and inspiring. Its always nice to hear that their jewellery was a gift, or a family heirloom, or something they found in a vintage store in Paris. Having said this of course, there are lots of people who, including myself, will say “I just loved it, so I bought it”.

I see people who wear lots of different pieces that show their personalities and their quirky style and people who choose only a few pieces that they love and stick to them on a daily basis. For me, I stick to my same watch, rings and necklace. One set in gold and one in silver.

The one thing I like to change up are bracelets. Lately I’ve been crushing on gold bracelets in small fine chains with different little touches. In my opinion, wearing a couple together looks amazing. Even adding other textures such as leather or wooden beads breaks it up and makes for a unique look.

Below are the pieces that I love and suit this description.

I chose these labels for this post as they all have lines of jewellery with plenty of different options in bracelets, necklaces and rings (and also because i love them!)

If you are someone who buys lots of jewellery pieces rather than investing in a favourite, try Sabo Skirt for some less expensive pieces in the same kind of styles!

Enjoy! x

So excited that in just a few short hours these Etoile Isabel Marant pants will be mine!

I absolutely LOVE printed pants! And in light weight material, they are my go to autumn staple. I can see myself wearing these pants over and over in the coming months! Dressy or casual, I’m already putting together outfits in my mind as I type.

Now….. Come on Postie man!

There is just something so wonderful about the city of New York. So much to do, everywhere you go. Of course, at the top of my list of things was to experience the shopping! It certainly didn’t disappoint and I came home with plenty of goodies. SoHo and NoLita for me, were just amazingly beautiful. The gorgeous boutiques that lined Elizabeth, Mott & Mulberry streets as well as the choice of shops on Broadway put me in a shoppers heaven. I can’t wait to go back there to do it all again some day!

Although I LOVED every minute I spent in New York, my most favourite things were: Shopping (of course), High line park (pictures 3 & 4), Wandering around central park, seeing the NYC’s Ballets performance of “The Nutcracker” and eating at Cafe Gitane in Soho – without a doubt the best cafe I’ve ever been to!

My favourite shops in New York are:

Rebecca Taylor, Scoop NYC, Vince, Bloomingdales (on Broadway), Madewell, Rag & Bone, J Crew, Anthropologie, Dolce Vita, Atrium, Saks Fifth Avenue and of course favourites Zara & Topshop.

5. My favourite purchase from NYC, Jimmy Choo Heels from Saks Fifth Avenue and;

Next trip to New York I’m looking forward to exploring Brooklyn a bit more and would also like to spend more time wandering around Greenwich Village. I didn’t get to the Chelsea markets either so these are on all on the list for next time. Hopefully that’s not too far away!

Have a wonderful week people xx

So lately I’ve been in search of the perfect little black clutch/purse that will be something I use all the time. Trouble is though, I’ve found 7, Yep SEVEN. I thought I would find it hard to find something in the perfect size and material – turns out I was wrong as I found so many beautiful options.

I have culled my list down to these 7 beauties and now I just need to decide which one. This is something that I don’t mind spending a little more on as its something I know I will get plenty of use out of.

Normally I’m someone who tries a piece of clothing on once and my mind is made up straight away whether I want it or not. With this its just not that simple. I guess I’ll have to make up my mind sooner or later as I can’t have them all. Maybe I could buy two of them.. One for day and one for night. We’ll see.

Tell me though… Which one would you choose?

Enjoy your week x

With the weather still warm here in my home town but not a whole lot happening, I’m finding myself daydreaming about a European getaway. An Italian or French summer of wandering the streets aimlessly, drinking coffee and eating fabulous foods, browsing the shops and people watching has my travel bug itching constantly. And with outfits like these, I just want to be there!

Do you ever buy pieces of clothing that you wear once and then leave them in your wardrobe after that because they are too dressy for everyday wear? This has happened to me quite a few times and I always feel like I’ve spent money for one night out and it hasn’t been worth it.

I’ve since found out that if you invest in the right shoes, you can wear those dressier items during the day and all the time! I love that these items that I buy for wearing to dinners/drinks & weddings can now be worn more casually after the event.

I’m having fun wearing my designer pieces during the day with either a casual singlet or tee and flats. It definately keeps the cost per wear of those expensive items down.

On the other hand though, the Jimmy Choo heels in this post are something you wouldn’t wear all the time, but are just simply too beautiful to pass up to have them in your collection 🙂

Inspired by Kate Spade New York’s most recent campaign – “Put a bow on it”- I went in search of cute accessories with bows and girly touches.

These shoes from J-crew gave me the inspiration for that gorgeous girly style. I’m not sure where I will ever wear something like this but if the opportunity arises soon for these to be worn with an outfit for the right occasion I certainly won’t hesitate in adding to cart….The hardest decision will be choosing which colour!

Happy Tuesday xx

As this week draws to a close I realised that all I’ve done since my last post is online browse for beautiful cashmere’s in nude and plains colours. Seeing as though it was a beautiful sunny day here, I thought it was time to lighten the mood just in time for the weekend.

These gorgeous sweaters will always add that little bit of fun to any outfit. And in 100% cashmere what more could you ask for!?
